Sprint set to release fix for Galaxy Nexus failing 3G

updated 05:45 pm EDT, Tue May 1, 2012

Update for Sprint Galaxy Nexus through Wi-Fi soon

Galaxy Nexus owners on Sprint will receive an update
fixing the missing 3G support on the handset. Subscribers have been reporting network connection issues on the carrier's public forum for the last week.

Affected customers could not connect to Sprint's 3G network, citing repeated failed connections regardless of the signal strength, while Wi-Fi received no adverse effects. The issues are believed to have been related to Sprint's rollout of its 4G LTE network.

A forum post from a Sprint administrator details a fix being rolled out over the next two days. Affected devices will have to connect to Wi-Fi in order to receive the fix, with devices in retail stores getting the update from May 17. [via Android Police]
