updated 02:00 am EDT, Tue May 1, 2012

Preorders ship May 15

Jawbone published details of the rumored Big Jambox today. Preorders start today for the larger cousin to the original Jambox.

The Big Jambox is 10 inches long, 3.1 inches wide, 3.6 inches tall, and 2.7 pounds in weight. Bluetooth 2.1 with enhanced data rate (EDR) is the primary connection method from Android phones, iOS devices, Windows, and Intel-based Mac OS X computers. A 3.5mm stereo input is available as well.

Two devices can be paired to the Big Jambox simultaneously over Bluetooth. A Micro-USB port is available for charging and firmware updates from the MyTalk service. Speakerphone capability is included, with a 360-degree omnidirectional microphone with echo cancellation. Up to 15 hours of continuous playtime is expected from the built in rechargeable Lithium-Ion battery.

Preorders are available starting today at $299 for any one of the three available colors.
