Vue update available as pre-release
Following a move started by flagship Apple stores in January, retail locations have begun swapping out iMacs at their kids' table with iPads. As noted by iMore, the iPads are loaded with a variety of child-friendly apps and outright replace the previously used iMacs. The change may not be reflected immediately in all stores, however, we at MacNN have been able to confirm that the Rideau location in Ottawa has updated its kids' table with iPads.
Vue update released to customers under maintenance
An update of Vue, e-on software's tool for the creation, animation and rendering of natural 3D environments, has been released for users under maintenance. The software is available as a stand-alone app, xStream, as well as a plug-in, Infinite, that is compatible with 3ds Max, Maya, Softimage, LightWave and Cinema4D. New features include directional light matching, spline tool, ecosystem stacking, and Rock convexity, each which allow users to further customize subtle details in their environments. Vue 10.5 is currently only available as a pre-release for customers under maintenance, however anyone who wishes to receive the advance update can do so by purchasing maintenance. Vue 10.5 xStream and Vue 10.5 Infinite are expected to ship during the second quarter of 2012.
