Comcast and Verizon expand cross promotion to 6 more markets

Verizon and Comcast offer double data plans

Verizon and Comcast are expanding their cross-promotional activities into six new markets. The cross-selling gives customers of both companies various incentives including prepaid Visa cards and an offer to double their data package sizes.

Originally launched in San Francisco, Portland, OR; and Seattle, the new markets include the state of Colorado and the cities of Atlanta, Chicago, Kansas City, Minneapolis-St. Paul, and Salt Lake City. The prepaid Visa cards range from $50 to $300, while the data bundle increase affects Verizon's 4G LTE data plans and adds a free year of Comcast's Blast Xinfinity service.

Earlier this month, Verizon and Time Warner Cable were promoting each other in a similar partnership. Bundles included prepaid cards, up to $200 in value, being mailed to new customers.

Verizon's previous spectrum license purchases from Comcast, TWC, and Bright House has caught the attention of the FCC. T-Mobile and Sprint both asked for the FCC to look at the potential issues of such deals, implying that Verizon's spectrum grab would be anticompetitive and unnecessary.
