Samsung rolls out Android 4.0 to Canadian phones, tablets

Samsung updates most Galaxy hardware

Samsung carried on its Android 4.0 updates by pushing them out to Canadians. The Galaxy S II and its LTE, HD LTE, and X variants should all start getting the new OS as of today. The Galaxy Note, as well as the Galaxy Tab 10.1, 8.9, 7.0, and 7.0 Plus, well get their update in a similar interval.

Updates won't be complete and will roll out over the rest of the spring, although it's possible that customers might accelerate their updates with manual checks.

The update largely keeps Samsung's customized TouchWiz interface and makes Android 4.0 an underneath update, adding extras like Face Unlock and the groundwork for apps like Chrome for Android. Any major interface changes are coming with the third-generation Galaxy S.

US upgrades are likely the last to come as carriers' demands for customized hardware will have required extra tests.
