Apple nabs senior Yahoo exec for mobile iAd division

updated 06:00 pm EDT, Mon April 30, 2012

Jensen had focused on women, lifestyle projects

A senior Yahoo executive who had been in charge of its Shine site for women's issues, health and lifestyle content has left the company to take a position at Apple's iAd mobile advertising division, AllThingsD is reporting. Jessica Jensen was the public face of Yahoo's efforts to beef up its own content away from sports, finances and celebrity news. Jensen originally came to Yahoo three years ago through her own site LowImpactLiving.com.

She will be reporting to a former colleague, iAd head Todd Teresi, who has worked for both Yahoo and Adobe. Jensen's leaving Yahoo will likely be seen as damaging to new Yahoo CEO Scott Thompson's efforts to rebuild the struggling internet search and content provider.

At Yahoo, Jensen helped build Shine into a major destination for women, focusing on motherhood, single moms, fashion, fitness and health stories. She also previously worked on strategy for the Americas unit of the company. Her position at Apple is unconfirmed, as the company has not yet acknowledged hiring her, but her mission will be to help Teresi turn the troubled mobile ad division around. [via AllThingsD]
