Apple details WWDC 2012 scholarship program

updated 11:20 am EDT, Wed April 25, 2012

Scholarship earns students free ticket

As a part of its WWDC 2012 announcement, Apple has also revealed details of a scholarship program for the event. Roughly 150 students selected by Apple will be able to go to the event for free, skipping the $1,599 ticket price. Candidates must apply by May 2nd however, and fulfill a number of different criteria.

On a basic level people must be active students over the age of 13, with proof of enrollment. They must also have been a member of one of Apple's Developer Programs since before August 1st 2011, and will be judged on "technical ability," "creativity of ideas expressed in products/projects," and more routine things like prior WWDC attendance and work/technical experience.
