Android Google Maps update graduates labs items

Google Maps for Android (Free, Google Play) has been updated today with a few small changes, repositioning the existing scale bar and zoom buttons while adding elevation data to the Labs features.

The scale bar, previously seen in the Labs section, moves to settings along with fellow Labs graduate, the zoom control. The scale bar enables users to view an approximation of distances at each zoom level, while the zoom buttons serve as an alternative to pinch gestures.

Elevation data has been added to the "Measure" Lab, displaying total ascent and descent figures alongside distances. Despite its addition, there are already comments disliking the inability to change from imperial to metric units, which may be amended in the future.
