Google bumps Gmail storage to 10GB

Users paying for GDrive get 25GB limit

Google posted Tuesday that users of Google's free email service would be receiving a 33 percent boost in storage capacity. Gmail users will now have access to 10GB of storage.

The space increase comes on the heels of a larger announcement from Google today, the debut of its long-rumored cloud storage offering, Google Drive. In announcing Drive, Google touted its heavy integration with the company's other offerings, especially Gmail. Users get 5GB of Drive storage for free, but can upgrade to higher limits in a tiered pricing system.

Those Gmail users choosing to pay for higher Drive storage will see their mail storage expanded to 25GB.
