Galaxy Nexus gets updated Android 4.0.4

Google and Samsung have quietly solved a problem with sudden signal drops on the Galaxy Nexus. A minor update to Android 4.0.4, IMM76I, gives the phone the consistent performance. Some owners have noted another fix for unresponsiveness on the lock screen when automatic brightness is on.

The update should be rolling out gradually over the air to those with a stock HSPA+ Galaxy Nexus. Verizon owners are still on 4.0.2 and will have to wait for the update itself, although it might not be needed.

Sprint owners are on a newer build of 4.0.4, but it's not known if their just-arrived phones encounter the problem at all. As CDMA users, they use a different radio and might not be affected. [via Android Central]
