AT&T, Reebok, Intel to release branded Spotify apps

updated 06:00 pm EDT, Fri April 13, 2012

Spotify allowing large brands to make apps

Large brands will be releasing their own Spotify apps in the next few months. According to Ad Age, brands like AT&T, Intel, and Reebok are in line to provide and promote their apps on the music streaming service.

AT&T will plot locations close to the history of a song in "Surround Sounds," letting users discover music on maps. Intel's "Sifter" is a song recommendation engine using playlists of the users' friends on Facebook, and Reebok's app will make playlists for workouts.

Apps on Spotify were introduced last year, enabling third party playlist creation using the 10 million song catalog.

Spotify CEO Daniel Ek will be introducing them during a keynote at Ad Age's Digital Conference in New York next week, before presenting at a special event Spotify has been sending invites for.
