Sony SmartWatch reaches US

SmartWatch allows remote Android phone control

Sony has made the MW2 SmartWatch available to preorder through its US online store. The SmartWatch offers a wearable 1.3-inch OLED touchscreen able to access most functions of a nearby Android smartphone remotely over Bluetooth 3.0.

The 128x128 resolution, 0.3-inch thick screen allows the user to control of an Android 2.1 or higher smartphone from the wrist. Updates from social networks, e-mail and text messages appear on the display, along with incoming calls and options to control music playback remotely from the handset. Alternative apps that link to the device are available from Google Play. Battery life for the accessory is around 14 days at standby, with up to four estimated in everyday use.

The Sony SmartWatch at $150 is supplied with a clip and a black wristband with other colors as optional extras.
