Pioneer brings out HDJ-1500 headphones for pro musicians

Use air chambers to deaden noise

Pioneer is launching a new series of headphones designed for professional DJs and musicians. The HDJ-1500 carries paired 50mm drivers embedded in sound insulating casings with air chambers to reduce the sound by 4dB and help hear the intended mix. The ear cups are held by magnesium alloy carriers to help them withstand the typically tough

The headphones will come in either black or a satin silver and black combination. Impedance is 32 ohms, and sensitivity is 180db. Creating the full range output are CCAW voice coils. Frequency response is 5Hz to 30,000Hz.

Pioneer has priced the HDJ-1500s at 18,000 yen ($223 USD). The company has not said when it will begin shipping the headphones or whether they will export to the US, although most of Pioneer's equipment makes the translation. [via Akihabara News]
