Sprint inadvertently hints at own Samsung Galaxy Note

updated 06:40 pm EDT, Tue April 10, 2012

Sprint graphic suggests CDMA Galaxy Note incoming

A graphic on Sprint's homepage as of Tuesday evening may have unintentionally spoiled, or at least hinted at, plans for its own version of the Samsung Galaxy Note. A "Take Control" image expands to show a woman standing next to an oversized rendering of what's clearly Samsung's 5.3-inch Android device, with the Samsung logo just above the controls. Sprint's current main Samsung Phone, the Epic 4G Touch, is conspicuously different.

Sprint hasn't commented on the nature of the image so far.

Rumors have been circulating of a CDMA Galaxy Note for some time, with most talk centering around a Verizon model that might be called the Galaxy Journal. That device hasn't materialized to date, but Samsung hasn't precluded other versions. Sprint's upcoming LTE network would let it get a design similar to the AT&T model with relatively few changes, but with the addition of unlimited data.

Such images can sometimes be just the result of ad editors not double-checking their source materials and using an AT&T device by mistake. The lack of AT&T branding at the top despite the American design gives support to the image being a Sprint Galaxy Note model, however, as it neither reflects the international version nor the Canadian version. Its only logical alternative would be an AT&T Note with the logo erased. [via TechnoBuffalo]
