ASUS Transformer Pad 300 shows in retailer listings for $379

updated 10:15 pm EDT, Tue April 10, 2012

First units expected in a week

ASUS' Transformer Pad 300 has already appeared in retailer listings ahead of a formal launch. The convertible tablet reportedly showed up in a Google Shopping search for J&R, carrying a $399 price tag for the 32GB model, though the device has yet to be posted to J&R's main site with additional details.

A follow-up inquiry from The Verge suggests the retailer is planning to sell the basic 16GB model for $379, while the keyboard docking station was listed with a $149 price tag on the Google search. A representative also claimed the fist units were expected to be added to inventory within a week.

The Transformer Pad 300, which was first unveiled at Mobile World Congress, is one of the many Android 4.0 tablets to take advantage of NVIDIA's quad-core Tegra 3 chipset. The tablet features a 10.1-inch 1280x800 IPS display, an eight-megapixel camera, 1GB of RAM and the accessory dock that converts the device into a notebook.

Despite the comments from J&R staff, ASUS has yet to publicly confirm launch dates or pricing for the Pad 300.
