LIL KIKR rolls out compact speaker dock for iPod and iPhone

updated 06:50 pm EDT, Tue April 10, 2012

Dock charges, holds and amplifies Apple handhelds

LIL KIKR is rolling out two compact docks for iPhones and iPods. The LIL KIKR and LIL KIKR+ serve as chargers, stands, and mini speakers. A built in amplifier boosts sound by up to 10db to make up for the size.

Both docks are built from aluminum and stainless steel, and are available in a choice of red, black or silver. The LIL KIKR docks with an iPhone 4 or 4S with its case removed. The LIL KIKR+ will accept both of these devices as well as third-generation iPod nanos, sixth-generation iPod classics, iPod touch players, and the iPhone 3G or 3GS. Using the LIL KIKR+ doesn't require these older devices to be removed from their cases before docking.

The LIL KIKR and LIL KIKR+ are available through the crowd-funding website Kickstarter. The pre-launch price is $50 for one or $140 for three. The company is hoping to raise $20,000.
