Details remain scarce

Sony has released a software update for the PlayStation Vita, while teasing an upcoming video feature for the PlayStation 3. As part of the weekly PlayStation Blogcast, Sony's social media manager, Jeff Rubenstein, noted that the company is working on a "cool new video service" that will be available for PSN users.

"I can't tell you anything more about it right now," Rubenstein said. "But it's really cool."

The PS Vita software update brings several minor tweaks, including a new "notification alert" setting that quickly toggles alerts on or off, an "after 10 minutes" option in the power settings, caps lock in the virtual keyboard, and an arrow icon that points to new activities in LiveArea.

The Vita update can be manually downloaded through the system update tool in the settings menu, or loaded from a PC or Mac via Content Manager. [via The Verge]
