Sony VAIO CA, CB 2012 models leak out

updated 01:15 pm EDT, Fri March 30, 2012

Press images, early tech specs leak of new VAIO C

Sony will soon refresh its existing VAIO CA and CB notebooks, if the leaked images embedded below are any indication. Shared by NotebookReview forum members, the leaked press images are accompanied by some early specs from sources. The 14-inch (VAIO CA) models will get a choice of Intel's Ivy Bridge processors while the 15-inch (VAIO CB) versions will run on Intel's Sandy Bridge CPUs, at least initially.

Available colors will include white with teal trim, silver with black trim, all pink, and black with orange trim, as the images show. The edge of the lid will be rounded, while the VAIO logo will be embossed.

The chiclet-style keyboards will be backlit. The brushed metal finish seen in the photos isn't likely to show up in the production models, however.

Otherwise, the entry-level series should start at $750, just as with the current versions. Integrated Intel HD 4000 graphics will come as part of the Ivy Bridge chips, with an optional dedicated graphics processor available as well. These notebooks are expected to ship in April, although Intel's rumored April 29 target might push the VAIOs to very late April or early May. [via Laptop Reviews]
