Row erupts over Apple construction barricades
Apple is at work on a new Apple Store in Dalian, China, MIC Gadget reports. A sign in the city's Parkland Mall claims that the store will be the "world's biggest," but provides no other details. This includes a date for the outlet's launch, although construction has already begun.
A confrontation is in fact said to have erupted on Wednesday, shortly after construction barricades were put in place around the future store. Security officers from a nearby business faced off against Apple's own security guards, and ultimately tore down the barricades. At some point during the confrontation a glass curtain wall in the mall was smashed, and police were brought in.
Violence has broken out around Chinese Apple Stores in the past. Typically, though, any incidents have been linked to scalpers. Scalpers are paid to stand in line on behalf of gray-market vendors, and will sometimes resist any measures that favor legitimate customers.

Any idea as to why this happened? Were the barricades obstructing access to other businesses?
