New source has Evo One coming to Sprint on June 6
A new source speaking to Android Central maintains that the HTC One X smartphone variant that will be unveiled at a joint event with Sprint on April 4 will be called the Evo One. Other key information revealed by this latest, unnamed source includes a ship date of June 6 for the handset, which will also get a 4.7-inch, 720p LCD (not AMOLED as claimed). Powering it will reportedly be a dual-core, 1.5GHz Snapdragon S4 processor.
The LTE-capable phone should have decent battery life as well, thanks to its purported 2,650mAh battery, though it won't be user-removable. There will likely be 16GB of memory onboard, expandable thanks to a microSD memory card slot. The OS is still said to be Android 4.0 with Sense 4.0 overlaid atop. An eight-megapixel rear camera and a possibly upgrade two-megapixel front shooter would be inside, along with the requisite Beats audio processing.
The design is already known to be thin. Sprint's edition could be unique with a built-in kickstand as well as a more distinctive black and red tone than the grays and silvers of the One X.
An earlier rumor was somewhat conflicting, indicating the handset will be called the Jet and arrive on June 10 at Sprint. Both still expected it to be mostly the same and amount to a CDMA version of the One X model already confirmed for AT&T.
