Verizon HomeFusion LTE goes live, adds Terre Haute

updated 06:40 pm EDT, Wed March 28, 2012

Service currently limited to six cities

Verizon has announced that its HomeFusion residential LTE pilot program has been expanded to include Terre Haute, Indiana. The service, which serves as an alternative to traditional wired broadband connections, is also available in Birmingham, Alabama; El Cajon, California; Nashville, Tennessee; Dallas, Texas; and Roanoke, Virginia.

The fixed LTE radios are said to be capable of supporting average data rates between 5-12Mbps while downloading, and between 2-5Mbps when uploading. Customers can choose from three data packages, ranging from 10GB to 30GB.

The 10GB data package is available for $60/month, while 20GB of data fetches $90/month and 30GB of data brings the price up to $120/month. The company enables users to exceed their standard allowance by 50 percent for the first two months while they "settle into" the in-home wireless broadband system.

Verizon has yet to announce full rollout plans for other regions throughout the US.
