Nokia has announced that it as teamed exclusively with China Telecom to bring its first wave of Windows Phone 7 handsets to the critical Chinese smartphone market. The first handset to lead the charge is the Lumia 800C, which is a CDMA variant of the the Lumia 800 already launched in other international markets. In addition to being the first CDMA Windows Phone in China, it will also come with additional content pre-installed and unique to the Chinese market.

In addition to the Nokia-only suite of apps pre-installed on its Lumia handsets including Nokia Maps, Nokia Drive and Nokia Music, the company has created some unique apps tailored for China. These include a suite of integrated music, games, cartoon, video and reading apps that are available right on the home screen out of the box.

Further, to entice Chinese consumers to buy the Lumia 800C, Nokia is offering Chinese users access to applications from Trends, which includes free access to FHM, Harper's Bazaar and Esquire. Nokia will also offer the first 100,000 customers free downloads of Fruit Ninja and PVZ from the Nokia Collection in the Windows Marketplace.

The Nokia 800C will be available in early April in black and cyan. Following in its footsteps will be a Chinese CDMA variant of the Lumia 610, the 610C.
