LG Lucid mates 4in screen to LTE

Verizon confirmed one device rumor on Tuesday and launched the LG Lucid. The smartphone is one of the few mid-sized LTE devices and pairs a four-inch LCD with the much faster download speeds, instead of needing a large design. It helps establish the new mid-range with a dual-core, 1.2GHz processor, 1GB of RAM, and both five-megapixel back (with 1080p video) and lower-resolution front cameras.

Despite being unveiled at the end of March, the Lucid is shipping with Android 2.3, with only a promise that 4.0 is coming later. LG hopes to make up for this by providing a Video Producer app that lets users make movie edits from the device. Swype's signature keyboard, Polaris' office app suite, and the DLNA media sharing app SmartShare help fill out the extras.

Price is the main advantage for the Lucid, which will cost $80 on a contract and stand as one of the most affordable 4G phones on Verizon. Stores should start carrying it on March 29.
