Logic Pro, Express updated for iOS Garageband compatibility

updated 07:10 pm EDT, Tue March 27, 2012

Fixes downloading and installing bugs, more

Apple has updated its music-creation and editing program Logic Pro, and has extended the update to the recently-discontinued Logic Express. The update fixes an issue that produced error messages when editing fades on numerous regions, and updates compatibility with Garageband for iOS projects. The Logic Pro update also fixes downloading and installing content bugs.

In December, Apple dropped the price of Logic Pro to $200, the price of the former Logic Express, and moved Logic Pro to the Mac App Store as it has done with a number of its "pro" apps. The latest version of Pro and Express, now at v9.1.7, requires OS X 10.6.8 and a gigabyte of RAM. Also recommended is a PCI Express-, ExpressCard/34-, USB-, or Firewire-based audio interface.

Updates for the MAS version will appear on the Mac App Store in the updates section. The update for non-MAS versions will come to users via Software Update.
