Pure downloads unmentioned
The $5 iOS version of iPhoto has hit 1 million users, Apple tells The Loop. The app has only been on sale since March 7th. Apple is also distinguishing between users and downloads; through iCloud, a single user can download an app multiple times.
The app represents part of an ongoing effort by Apple to parallel its iWork and iLife suites between OS X and iOS. Pages, Numbers, and Keynote are available on both platforms, as are titles like iMovie, GarageBand, and Photo Booth. OS X and iOS apps alike were updated on the 7th.

Updating iPhoto Library
Now, if Apple would just release version 1.0.1 that changes the way iPhoto updates the library EVERY TIME YOU LAUNCH THE APP so it doesn't take 20 minutes before iPhoto is available if you have 1,000 pictures on your iDevice. You hide the app and the update pauses instead of running in the background. This makes it useless for people with a bunch of pictures which, I would imagine, is the actual group iPhoto appeals to.
