Syncs details with iOS devices
The second developer preview of Mountain Lion includes location-based reminders, notes 9to5Mac. While the Reminders app was already an integral part of Mountain Lion, the updated app lets users trigger alerts when leaving or arriving at a specific place. The feature has been available in the iOS version of Reminders since iOS 5 was released last fall.
Mountain Lion's location tracking is less precise because it can only rely on Wi-Fi, not GPS. The new reminders can, however, be synced with iOS devices, making it possible to create location-based alerts for a handheld without picking it up.
The public launch of Mountain Lion is scheduled for sometime this summer.

"The feature has been available in the iOS version of Reminders since iOS 5 was released last fall." - nope, unfortunately that's not entirely true. Location-based reminders are still only available on iPhones, not on iPads.
