HTC partners with LogMeIn for remote Android support

updated 09:35 pm EDT, Mon March 19, 2012

Devices to get LogMeIn Rescue

LogMeIn has announced that it has partnered with HTC to bring remote support services to the handset maker's Android devices. Upcoming models are said to come preloaded with LogMeIn Rescue, enabling HTC's support staff to diagnose and troubleshoot technical problems.

The system relies on a secure data connection to provide support staff with configuration details and remote control capabilities. Representatives then can change settings on the phone, or run diagnostic utilities.

The company offers similar products for BlackBerry, Windows Mobile and Symbian, along with desktop editions for PC and Mac.

HTC has yet to announce specific launch plans for LogMeIn-equipped Android devices.
