MacPhun puts Color Splash Studio on sale this weekend

New version coming soon, says developer
Developer MacPhun is planning to release a major new version of Color Splash Studio, a photography app for the Mac that lets users drain the color from photos and then selectively re-apply it for dramatic effect. Before the new version appears with its new price, however, the company is letting users download the current version (v1.3) for $1 -- up to 70 percent off its normal pricing. The special is only good for this weekend.
The program features integration with iPhoto, Aperture and Photoshop, allowing users to send the photos on for further processing. Rather than just grayscale, the un-colored portions of the photo can be almost any type of monochrome, for example a blue tone or sepia. Layers can also be selectively blurred, adding punch or emphasis to the focused area. The blur is overlaid on the picture and thus is completely adjustable.
Color Splash Studio supports high resolution files up to 32 megapixels and many formats including RAW. Users can zoom in to work on small details, enjoy a full-screen mode, and share the results with most popular social networks. Examples of user photos can be seen at the company's Color Splash Studio group on Flickr. The app is exclusively available through the Mac App Store, and requires OS X 10.6 or later. A similarly-named program is available for iOS but is not the same product nor from the same company.

good app for the price
app could be better if the color and grayscale layers were preserved on export to photoshop however, still, for a buck it does something rather nice.
