Digg, Milk creator Kevin Rose said hired by Google

Kevin Rose said jumping to Google for unknown work

Digg's founder and Milk co-creator Kevin Rose was said Thursday to have been hired on at Google. An AllThingsD tip had him starting work at the company on Monday along with "some others" at the company. What his role would be at Google, or what would happen to Milk, wasn't evident early on.

Neither side had commented.

The jump to Google would come just days after Oink was shutting down, ostensibly as Milk was refocusing on new projects. The iPhone app was considered his brainchild and might have had difficulties continuing afterwards. If hired for his efforts at Milk, Rose could be focused on mobile app development for iOS, Android, or both.

Rose is known for having cultivated a long history of fans, starting with his spot on TechTV and moving on to his creation of the social news aggregator Digg and the matching Diggnation podcast. [image via Brian Solis]

Is the ongoing obsession with this guy Rose? He's as relevant as Wired.

    I'd say...

...he's as relevant as Ballmer - and yes, I don't understand the fascination with him. Well, another example of Google having lost it.
