Nokia Lumia 900 tipped to land on AT&T April 8

Nokia Lumia 900 could now arrive in early April

Nokia's anticipated high-end Windows Phone 7 toting Lumia 900 has now been tipped to arrive on AT&T's network on April 8. The Nokia smartphone flagship was originally expected to arrive stateside by the end of March for $99 and was then said to have slipped to April 22 due a lack of technical approval. However, someone claiming to be an AT&T assistant store manager has tipped off The Verge that stores are already starting to receive demo units and staff training is to commence soon.

The rumored launch date does have one caveat, in that April 8 will be Easter Sunday and would seem an unusual choice for a device launch. While Nokia and Microsoft would be keen to get the critically well-received device on critical US market as soon as possible, it only recently surfaced at the FCC.

The tipster also said that AT&T stores are only expected to receive black and cyan versions of the Lumia 900, with the fabled white version not expected until the device is seen to be performing well. The device centers on a large 4.3-inch AMOLED ClearBlack display with a resolution of 800x480. It features Nokia's unibody polycarbonate plastic case and is powered by a single-core Snapdragon processor clocked at 1.4GHz.
