SwitchEasy updates Canvas case for new iPad

updated 12:35 pm EDT, Wed March 14, 2012

New version uses 'latchless' cover

Accessory maker SwitchEasy has released a updated version of its Canvas case for the iPad. The new model fits both the third-generation iPad and the iPad 2. Further separating it from the earlier, iPad 2-only model is an updated lid, which uses a latchless and self-adhesive design. As before, magnets in the lid turn an iPad on and off.

The primary feature of the canvas is its hybrid design. While the front and back of the case are covered in canvas material, the iPad itself sits within a polycarbonate hardshell, providing an extra layer of protection. Grooves on the inside of the lid allow a person to prop up the tablet for video or typing.

Four different colors are available: black, charcoal, red, and brown. SwitchEasy is selling the case for $50. Each package includes a screen protector, squeegee, and microfiber cloth, as well as protectors for the headphone jack and the dock connector.
