Google working on Chrome for Windows 8

Google to release Chrome browser for Windows 8

Google is developing a version of its Chrome for the upcoming Windows 8 operating system, Mashable learned. It will also be based on the desktop browser and support both regular desktop as well as Metro versions of the Windows 8. The desktop version should still have touch support, as Windows 8 can be used in all-in-one PCs and notebooks with a touchscreen as well.

Microsoft has said in the past that third-party browsers will have multitasking, but Metro will only allow running a single browser.

While it remains to be seen what the Chrome Windows 8 browser will involve, it's likely to appear along with the OS' release, expected sometime this fall. As in previous iterations, however, it's likely the new browser will get automatic syncing with phones and Google accounts, a wide number of extensions, and tabs.
