Demo shows Unreal Engine 4

Epic Games has reportedly run its "Samaritan" Unreal Engine 3 graphics demonstration on a single NVIDIA Kepler card. The same tech demonstration last year required three of NVIDIA's high-end GTX580 cards to run at equivalent speed, showcasing the power of the company's latest graphics hardware.

Kepler technology was also utilized to power Unreal Engine 4, though details surrounding the private demonstration have been hushed under non-disclosure agreements.

"That board we ran the Samaritan demo on is the same board we're running the Unreal Engine 4 demos on," Epic Games VP Mark Rein told Vox Games, according to quotes posted in a The Verge report. "We can get so more out of that card than what you saw in Samaritan."

Leaked roadmaps suggest NVIDIA may be preparing to release a number of Kepler-based cards next month, including the GTX680 and GTX660. The range-topping GTX690 is not expected to arrive until May, alongside a $999 price tag.
