Harman Dock+Go interface shown off in Geneva

Harman and Rinspeed are showing off a new Dock+Go mobility concept at the currently ongoing Geneva Motor Show. The system is said to be context-aware and connects to users' smartphones over NFC as well as the cloud-based Aha platform.

Preferences are synced from the smartphone, including seat positions, mirror settings, radio and equalizer presets, Facebook and Twitter accounts, and the look of Harman's Human Machine Interface (HMI) that delivers e-mails, contacts, and calendar entries.

The system is said to learn a driver's driving habits such as speed, braking, preferred routes, and system interactions. The system can then automatically zoom in when approaching intersections, for example, and even alert a driver's alertness levels and suggest breaks or suggest less risky routes.

The HMI system allows for gesture controls and voice orders with e-mails and texts that can be read out loud for a minimum amount of driver taking his eyes off the road.

The Aha interface will also let users access online content such as e-books, music, and even coupons and special offers for restaurants and stores on their route.

Purely a concept at this stage, there is no indication of when or where the Dock+Go interface can be seen on a production car or in the aftermarket.
