Apple is now doing early hiring for a retail store in Yonkers, New York, a Craigslist posting indicates. The company is searching for workers in all categories, including store leaders, Geniuses, specialists, and others. There is no clue as to when the store might open, or in what part of town, but it is not uncommon for Apple to start hiring before all details are made public.
A Yonkers location should fill in a significant gap in Apple's New York retail coverage. While there are several Apple Stores in Manhattan, there are no more locations further north in the state until a person reaches White Plains. Yonkers sits at a midway point between the two, and could alleviate some of the heavy traffic the Manhattan outlets are known for.
