Samsung Galaxy Beam projector phone reborn

Samsung Galaxy Beam remade for second try

After a brief try in 2010, Samsung has revived the Galaxy Beam, its hybrid projector and smartphone. The new version tucks in a 15-lumen pico projector that can show the phone's photos and videos, even outdoors. A dedicated app can be used to manage the content, which shows at sizes up to 50 inches.

As a phone, the Beam is still locked into Android 2.3, although it has a dual-core 1GHz processor that's likely either a Tegra 2 or a Snapdragon. Its frame is defined by a four-inch, 480x800 display, and both a five-megapixel rear camera and front 1.3-megapixel camera help capture the footage to show with the projector later. 8GB of internal space is supported by a microSDHC slot.

Samsung hasn't been specific on where the Galaxy Beam will launch, although support for 14.4Mbps HSPA on the 850MHz and 1,900MHz bands along with a casual mention of using the projector for Hulu has implied that it may come to AT&T.

    Tipical of Macheads.

    A truly innovative and original product comes along,
    but being from big evil - insert rival company name here;
    gets no attention whatsoever.
