HTC intros One V entry-level Android 4.0 handset

updated 04:00 pm EST, Sun February 26, 2012

Phone centers around 3.7-inch display

Confirming recent rumors, HTC has introduced the One V to satisfy the market for entry-level Android 4.0 smartphones. The device is smaller than the flagship One X and the midrange One S, bringing the display size down to 3.7 inches with 800x480 resolution, with an aluminum housing and overall design based on the company's existing Legend handset.

As the bottom tier of HTC's One lineup, the One V integrates a single-core 1GHz processor rather than a dual-core or quad-core chip that are featured in the One S and One V, respectively. Other basic features include 4GB of internal memory and a five-megapixel camera, without a front-facing counterpart.

HTC has yet to announce specific carriers or pricing details for the One V.
