HTC One X gets big press render, spec leaks ahead of launch

HTC One X near confirmed through tips

The HTC One X has had virtually all its details slip through the scoop of numerous official PR files. Greece's FullGSM got both more images of the quad-core phone itself as well as its spec sheet. Images show a slim design braced by the 4.7-inch, 720p Super LCD 2 display and reinforce that it should be using Android 4.0 with the slightly improved Sense 4.0 layer on top.

The special features of the phone should go beyond the quad Tegra 3 processor to include the rear camera. While it's still an eight-megapixel sensor, it should have an even wider f2.0 aperture to improve low light and macro shots. A unique dual-shutter camera should let owners take still photos in mid-video shoot, something that would normally only be possible on a good dedicated camera.

Other touches bring NFC short-range wireless with official Google Wallet support, a front 1.3-megapixel camera, and 32GB of contiguous internal storage. The device shipping from the start will have support for AT&T's 21Mbps HSPA+ network as well as those of major Canadian carriers, possibly hinting at a short wait for a North American release.

HTC is expected to unveil the One X along with at least the dual-core One S and the Rhyme-replacing One V at an event on Sunday afternoon Eastern time. If consistent with HTC's past habits, the One line would be in at least European stores by the spring.
