German workers seek to improve retail
Apple has set an official date for the opening of the Amsterdam Apple Store. The location is scheduled to open Saturday, March 3rd at 10AM, situated in the Hirsch Building at Leidseplein 25. Regular hours will run from 9AM to 9PM Monday through Wednesday, 9AM to 10PM Thursday through Saturday, and 11AM to 7PM on Sunday. The shop will be Apple's first in the Netherlands, based in the same building as regional operating offices.
In Germany, meanwhile, workers at the Rosenstraße Apple Store in Munich have formed a council meant to address problems with working conditions, according to Manager Magazin. The group hopes to deal with a variety of labor issues, namely routine overtime, sales pressure from bosses, and health and safety concerns such as high noise levels. Councils are eventually expected to spread to all German Apple Stores.
Labor movements are still in their infancy within Apple retail. A group called the Apple Retail Workers Union was formed in the US in May 2011, but only began taking members in January of this year.

If this will be Apple's first store in the Netherlands, what computer store did I visit in Haarlem in 2007? Appel?
