Samsung Rugby Smart for AT&T spied for first time

updated 04:00 pm EST, Tue February 21, 2012

Entry-level Rugby Smart with Android pictured

The first images of the upcoming Samsung Rugby Smart phone due at AT&T have been shared by PocketNow. The entry-level Android phone is now believed to be codenamed Sigbin and should have 512MB of RAM onboard, HSPA 3G support, and Android 2.3.5 preloaded. A 1,650mAh battery should be inside.

The ruggedized phone was theoretically to have been available by now. Whether or not it arrives at Mobile World Congress isn't clear, since Samsung rarely uses the Barcelona event for devices with an American focus. The earlier report had the phone coming out on February 18, though that was obviously missed. The handset was supposed to come in at a price of $100 on contract.
