Fujitsu's Euro phones to get NFC, LTE support

Fujitsu plans to offer smartphones and tablets for the first time in Europe and will bring some of its new hardware to the Mobile World Congress next week. They will include devices that run on Android and Windows operating systems, the Financial Times reported. The phones will also get NFC chips for wireless payments and support 4G LTE where it's active.

Another way the handsets will aim to breakaway from the others out there is with biometric security in the form of a fingerprint scanner, much like the company's LifeBooks. Fujitsu aims to secure a double-digit market share within the next three to five years. The company has already spoken to European carriers to offer its smartphones, although which weren't named.

Fujitsu indicated these will be global products, with the recently leaked roadmap suggesting a Windows 8 tablet is due out this fall.
