White Nokia Lumia 900 already up for US pre-order

updated 05:30 pm EST, Wed February 15, 2012

Phone most likely 3G vbut not LTE 4G capable

Even though Nokia's flagship Lumia 900 isn't expected to hit US shelves in basic black or blue until March, at least one phone importer, Negri, has begun accepting pre-orders for the white-colored variant of the smartphone. Its version is the international model of the phone, images of which were first leaked by Nokia itself earlier this month. Unlike the locked version, to be sold for the AT&T network, this model will support HSPA+ (3G) but not LTE 4G.

The Nokia Lumia 900 sports a 4.3-inch 800x480 AMOLED display encased in a polycarbonate plastic shell much like that of the Lumia 800. It still comes powered by a 1.4GHz Qualcomm Snapdragon single-core processor. The rear-facing eight-megapixel camera touts a dual LED flash, autofocus, and Carl Zeiss optics with a wide f2.2 aperture. It sports 16GB of internal memory. Negri understands that the 1,830mAh battery provides up to seven hours of 3G talk time or up to 6.5 hours of video.

Negri has not said when it will be shipping the pre-ordered phones. European resellers were rumored to be waiting until June, although Mobile World Congress late this month could see the release date window brought closer.

Negri has priced the unlocked Lumia 900 at $650. It's been reported that AT&T will aggressively price the LTE-capable version of the phone at $100 with a contract.
