Launchpad for Leopard and Snow Leopard

O'Reilly has released a new programming book for iOS developers with more than 100 lessons. iOS 5 Programming Cookbook is geared towards users that are comfortable with the iOS SDK and includes lessons that show different approaches to designing an interface, how to develop location-aware apps, access the accelerometer, and more. Currently, the digital copy is being offered at the discounted price of $20, while print and print/digital options are set at $50 and $55 respectively.

An independent developer has released a free app for Leopard and Snow Leopard that simulates Lion's Launchpad feature. Kyle Oliver's tool incorporates features for setting favorite applications, as well as quickly searching for software within the launchpad. After installed, the launchpad can be accessed from the dock or by pressing F7. Launchpad is still considered to be in the beta stage and may contain a number of usability and performance bugs.
