Comprises all updates, extras and unit packs
Feral Interactive has ported over Sega and The Creative Assembly's Empire: Total War and will release it as Empire: Total War Gold Edition for Mac in the spring. The game was originally developed for Windows as the sixth instalment in the series in 2009, but the Mac version will include all game updates, improvements and all downloadable extra content, including The Warpath Campaign and four "elite unit" packs.
The game focuses on the battles (both on land and sea) across continents as various countries struggle to achieve power and dominance in their region. Players will experience the full panorama of conflicts in the 18th century, including the Industrial Revolution, America's War for Independence, and various wars and skirmishes as countries fought to control Asian trade routes.
The Mac edition also includes four unit packs, the Special Forces units and the Elite Units of the East, West and America. The game is heavily based on actual historical data and introduces 18th-century innovations such as accurate artillery and gunpowder-using muskets.
Provisional system requirements (which may change slightly before the game actually ships) call for a 2GHz Intel Mac running OS X 10.7.3 with 4GB of RAM and a video card with 256MB of RAM (Intel GMA series, ATI 1rxxx, HD2xxx, Nvidia 9400 and 7xxx cards not supported). A mult-button mouse and 512MB video card are recommended.
