Office continues to reach new mobile platforms

Microsoft announced that it has finally released its mobile productivity app, OneNote, for devices running Google's Android OS. The Android Market debut marks the company's latest expansion onto popular mobile platforms, following equivalent releases for Windows Phone, iPhone and iPad.

The app allows users to create or edit OneNote lists and notes, which can be shared with other users and synced via Microsoft's SkyDrive cloud service. Notes can be accessed and edited from any of the other OneNote utilities for mobile devices, web browsers or computers.

The simple document editor provides options for adding text, pictures, bullets and clickable checkboxes. The interface also offers quick access to recent notes and photo capture with the device camera.

The free version is available directly from the Android Market, with support for up to 500 notes. Users can also upgrade to the unlimited version for a one-time fee of $5 as an in-app purchase.
