Aspyr puts four Mac App Store game titles on sale

updated 08:00 pm EST, Fri January 27, 2012

Range of old and newer titles, $5 each

Mac game maker Aspyr has selected four titles from its catalog for a special month-end sale. From now through the end of January, Prey, Tomb Raider II, Duke Nukem Forever and Neverwinter Nights 2 for Mac will be on sale for $5, up to 75 percent off their normal price. The sale prices are already available for the Mac App Store versions, which require Intel Macs running OS X 10.6.6 or higher. Graphics requirements vary by game.

Prey is a first-person shooter that centers around a crisis of identity in a Cherokee garage mechanic who finds himself at the center of an extraterrestrial crisis. It requires an ATI Radeon X1600 or Nvidia GeForce 7300 or better card. Tomb Raider II is a port of the classic second quest-based outing of Lara Croft, and also requires the Radeon and Nvidia cards mentioned for Prey (Intel video chipsets are not supported).

Duke Nukem Forever was a long-awaited title that finally arrived, 14 years later, to mixed reviews, a gleefully sexist and wise-cracking mercenary in a typical "alien invasion" first-person shooter scenario. It requires a 256MB graphics card such as the ATI Radeon 2600 or Nvidia GeForce 8600. Neverwinter Nights 2 is a quest-based sword and sorcery adventure that borrow heavily from the original Dungeons & Dragons. It requires an ATI Radeon 2600 or Nvidia GeForce 8800 card, and does not support Intel video chipsets.

Aspyr's GameAgent storefront does not yet reflect the sale prices, and the sale may be limited to Mac App Store versions only.
