X-Pro1 ships in Japan on February 18, prices leak

The Fujifilm X-Pro1 interchangeable lens digital camera we had a chance to try at CES will be out in Japan on February 18, the maker revealed. The release will also see three new lenses come out at the same time, including an 18mm f2.0, a 35mm f1.4, and a 60mm f2.4 macro lens. A US release date hasn't been revealed, but is likely to follow soon after.

While prices haven't officially been released, some Japanese retailers are pricing the camera and three lenses. The body will reportedly cost 150,000 yen (nearly $1,940), with the 18mm and 35mm lenses carrying a 54,800 yen (about $710) sticker, while the 60mm glass will cost 59,800 yen (just over $770).

If these prices are accurate, they would make the 16-megapixel X-Pro1 one of the more expensive mirrorless digital cameras, vying for customer dollars with more expensive non-SLR digital cameras, with whom it shares an APS-C CMOS sensor.
