New Walkman E-series now lighter, thinner

Sony Japan has just introduced two new E-series Walkman players in Japan that are said to be thinner and lighter than their predecessors. Both have a 1.4-inch color LCD and a noise-cancelling design, while promising 30 hours of music playback on a full charge. The NW-E060 gets 2GB of built-in memory while the NW-E063 doubles that, with no other differences detailed.

The same models can also be had with a color-matched dock that doubles as a speaker, with the model numbers adding a K suffix to each, respectively. They will be available in pink, black, blue, and red on February 11. The 2GB model will cost the equivalent of nearly $115, with the speaker bundle going for about $140. Pricing for the 4GB model isn't known.

Two new docking stations were also introduced, the $180 RDP-NWG400B and the $140 RDP-NWM7. The former has a Bluetooth connection and 20W of total power for its two speakers and subwoofer, while the latter is meant for outdoor use and can be powered by four AAA batteries.

Whether these devices will arrive in markets outside of Japan hasn't yet been revealed. [via Impress]
