Apple makes progress on new Paris, Strasbourg Apple Stores

updated 10:45 am EST, Mon January 23, 2012

Parisian store cluster grows

Apple is taking steps toward building two more French retail stores, says MacGénération. The first is in the commercial center of Quatre Temps à la Défense, in the Parisian district of Puteaux. Apple has reportedly filed an application to run a business there, although an exact location in the center is unknown.

There are already several Apple Stores in the Paris area, but a Quatre Temps shop should have several advantages. Aside from creating more options, it will be situated in an area known both as a tourism destination and a crossroads for office workers.

In the city of Strasbourg, meanwhile, possible Apple construction activity has been spotted at l'Aubette (pictured), in the city center. The building is said to date back to 1765, when it served as an army barracks. It has since become a commercial building; some of the ground floor was converted to retail space in 2008. In theory, both the Aubette and Quatre Temps stores could be finished by the end of the year.
