Nashville one of 10 US openings planned for 2012
Additional details have emerged on three more future Apple Stores, notes ifoAppleStore. In Italy, job listings have appeared for a new store in Torino, one that was previously just rumored for more than two years. One possible address may be the former Mondadori bookstore on Via Roma 80, an arcade situated in the midst of other international retailers. Apple tends to prefer building stores in luxury or at least high-profile shopping areas.
Also coming to Italy is a second Roman store. Job listings have been posted since November, but now a black construction barricade has reportedly appeared on the ground floor of the Porta di Roma shopping center, north of Rome's city center. It's believed that the Roman store could open as soon as May, while the Torino one might arrive in August.
In the US, sources are claiming that a new Tennessee store will open in the Cool Springs Galleria south of Nashville. Abercrombie & Fitch are expected to empty space #1585 at the Galleria within a week, following a CBL & Associates Properties decision not to renew their lease. Apple in turn will allegedly start construction in April, with a possible end date in September. In all the Apple Store could measure about 9,316 square feet.
Apple executives have said that Apple will open roughly 40 stores in its fiscal 2012. Of these, about 10 are slated for the US, making Cool Springs a rarity. The company went on a tear throughout 2011 though, opening or upgrading many outlets around the world.
